The Grand Hack is a hackathon hosted at UTC Reading. The Grand Hack is the one of the first hackathons in Reading and the first hosted at the UTC. We are really looking forward to seeing everyone there with industry leading partners. There will be loads to do with a brilliant prize at the end.


With mentors from industry partners you are guaranteed to go home with loads of new skills.


Enter our competition with the product you have built over the weekend.


The top 10 teams will present their product to the rest of the attendees and partners.


What is a hackathon?

A hackathon is an invention marathon. Students come together to build cool software & hardware hacks over 24-48 hours. It’s very beginner friendly.

How much does it cost?

Nothing. Attending a hackathon is free.

Do I need to be a student to attend?

Yes. Only students who are currently enrolled at an educational institution or have graduated within the past 12 months are eligible to attend.

Where is the event?

The event is being hosted at UTC Reading.
